Bible Verses When You Feel Like A Failure
1. Bible Verse When You Feel Like A Failure: Forgiveness.
There is nothing in all the world that is beyond God’s forgiveness. When you confess your sins, God will forgive you of your sins.
1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
What this means for you:
It’s easy to consider God’s forgiveness for others rather than accepting it for yourself.
Or maybe you’ve committed a royally awful offense that you have convinced yourself is unforgivable.
Friend, if you’ve done something in your life that you believe is unforgivable or you believe you’re too unworthy of forgiveness, you’ve fallen for a lie.
I delayed years of forgiveness by believing that lie myself. There is a Deceiver that is trying to convince you that you are not worthy of God’s forgiveness. (1 Peter 5:8) He will do everything in his power to keep you from walking in true forgiveness.
He’s basically trying to convince you that you’re not worthy to be forgiven. Any form of condemnation, shame, or doubt about receiving forgiveness is NOT from God.
We can know this because of Romans 8:1-2 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin.
Knowing this is what makes what Jesus Christ did for us, all the more beautiful.
The radiance of Christ is that he died for all our sins. It doesn’t say he died for only the “not so bad sins” or the “everyone slips up this way sins”.
No, he died for our sins – the itty bitty ones, the big ones, and the dark, evil, awful ones.
Every single sin is sin.
Jesus died for all sins. We can come to Him in humility and confess our sins and be cleansed by His power!

2. Scripture When You Feel Like a Failure: Grace.
Do you get distracted by all the things you’ve screwed up on, messed up, or did wrong? Do you just get stuck with thoughts of “should-haves”?
Same here! But now, I’m learning that my attention and focus is on the wrong focal point.
Once I ask for God’s forgiveness, my focus needs to be on receiving God’s endless grace.
God’s grace is always bigger that our failure.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
For sin shall no longer be your master, for you are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14
See, these bible verses are God’s Word. It’s true. We can bank on it every.single.time.
It’s more trustworthy than our feelings; it’s never changing, and it’s life-giving power!
What this means for you:
God’s grace is infinitely more than our mess-ups.
His grace saves.
God’s grace is a gift that is offered to us in abundance time and time again.
The forgiveness we spoke of earlier is a gift of grace.
If you have come to believe God as anything other than a lavish giver of grace, you have fallen for something that is not true of His nature.
3. Scripture When You Feel Like A Failure: Power.
I bet you probably don’t feel like you have much power in you. For me, I felt 100% defeated by my failures until I gave God my weakness and brokenness.
The power of Jesus Christ is in you the moment you ask Jesus into your heart. When you try to make things right on your own, you’re working through will-power and your own strength. It’s not enough and will never be.
I tried to do it all on my own for such a long time before I became utterly exhausted.
If that’s where you are now, you are in the perfect position to know God’s heart for you.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
What this means for you:
You were never meant to go through this life bearing the weight of life on your own.
Again, from Paul’s letter above, we’re told of God’s grace – it is sufficient. A quick search on dictionary.com we see sufficient means: enough.
His grace is sufficient for you.
His grace is enough for you.
Come to Him with authentic, true weakness and rest in the power of Christ.

5. Scripture When You Feel Like A Failure: Freedom.
When we repent of our sin and trust Jesus for salvation, the beginning has just begun! Whether this was 20 years ago or today, we are given a brand new life in Christ and this life is meant to be walked out in the freedom that only Christ gives!
For me, I heard truths like this for a lot of my upbringing but did not truly accept them for myself. It was head knowledge. It took coming to the end of me – my failure, desperation, and exhaustion – and receiving with Jesus gives.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
What this means for you:
If you gave your life to Christ years ago but still failed and continue to fail (like the rest of us), He has freedom for you (and me)!
You are free indeed because of Jesus! He only asks that you trust, believe and receive what He moment by moment gives.
Have the courage to be vulnerable with your heart.
Stand firm, daily, on these truths because it is easy to become distracted from your true identity and what Christ offers you.
Let your failures meet the Cross. Even if it’s every single minute of the day, that’s where transformation and heart change begins.
