Monthly Bible Reading Plans

Welcome to my FREE Monthly Bible Reading Plans

Have you ever desired to read the bible and just had no clue where to start or what to read? Or maybe you’re interested in topical bible reading plans? These free printable bible reading plans will be perfect for you to get started!

Each month will have a one-month bible reading plan for instant download. Over time, I’ve now made over 2 years worth of free topical monthly bible reading plans to choose from! Beginning in 2023, I will no longer be adding additional topical plans, however, below are multiple free resources that I highly recommend to daily stay in God’s Word as well as all previous monthly topics that can be used over and over!

All you’ll need to use these printable bible reading plans is a printer to download, your bible, and I always love to have a journal close by to write down anything that sticks out to me or that the Lord brings to my mind – that is completely optional though. Once you read the passages, meditate on what you’ve discovered and consider how the Lord desires for you to put it into practice.

If you’re looking for additional topics OR are interested in a bible reading plan to read through the Bible, there are a variety of options online including the free YouVersion site. I’ve also used this daily bible reading plan from David Platt and love following along with his Prayer the Word podcast.

Another awesome free resource that I’ve loved to learn from that includes a Charles Spurgeon devotional and daily bible reading is Alistair Begg’s Truth for Life.

Whatever resource you choose to help guide your daily bible reading, always remember some time is better than no time in God’s Word. If you ever get off track, dust yourself off and start again!

Tips for Bible Reading

When it comes to daily bible reading, here are a few tips to help you.

  1. Commit. I love this quote from Martin Luther, “I have so many things to do today, I dare not ignore my time with God.”
  2. Pray. Pray before opening your bible that God opens your heart to hear Him and apply what you read.
  3. Trust. Trust the Holy Spirit to work through you. Even if you don’t “feel” like you got anything out of your reading on a particular day, trust that God is in process of transforming your heart and mind!
  4. Cherish. This is personal time with God. Read the bible to seek His heart, not to check off a to-do list. Savor this daily time with Him!

Monthly Bible Reading Plans

I’m sharing Topical Bible Reading Plans. Each month of bible reading includes a topic for that particular month. You can see the current month’s simple bible reading plan and the previous months as well.

As mentioned before, if you don’t know where to start reading your bible, these monthly bible reading plans will help guide you! Dive into God’s Word and grow closer to Him! Before you know it, you’ll begin to crave more and more!

  1. Hi! – I discovered your website a few days ago (last Sunday or Monday) and have found it very “meaty.” I down-loaded the Take the Pledge pages, and at the bottom of the introductory letter it noted that I would receive a weekly newsletter on Thursdays. I was really looking forward to receiving that yesterday but it never came :(. What do I need to do to start receiving your weekly newsletter?
    Thank you.
    Kathy

    1. Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for your note and for letting me know! I just resent yesterday’s newsletter to you and you should be receiving those going forward. I’m so glad you’ve found Raise Your Sword! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend! Erin

  3. Hi. I just recently got a Christian Planner and the group I belong to suggests your site for a monthly reading program. I found yours, but I see two different pages for January. Do you change it yearly? If so, which one is for 2022. Thank you.

    1. Hi! Thank you so much for pointing this out to me – I just updated it by years. The current January plan – The Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is for January 2022. I hope this helps!
