Raise Your Sword

Hi! I’m Erin!

I’m passionate about God’s Word as well as encouraging others with it. I created Raise Your Sword as an outlet to share both passions and from an overflow of gratitude for what I’ve been saved from and the grace I’ve received and continue to live under.

All writings are from a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

He’s captivated me and my goal is to make this site all about Him.

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

That verse gets me every time I read it.

It’s what He did for me and you.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, he forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. Ephesians 1:3-10

It astonishes me that I am now in the Beloved! That He blesses me with every spiritual blessing, that he chose me, that he adopted me, that I am redeemed through his blood, that he’s forgiven me, and if all that and more isn’t enough, he continues to lavish his grace upon me!

This is our Savior!

I pray we each grow in adoration for Christ and are daily encouraged by dwelling with Him. I hope a wildfire of passion for the Lord spreads with us far and wide as we grow in Him and we, His Church and Bride, live worthy of our calling.

May we dwell richly with our Living Savior and daily cherish and seek Him above all things! Prioritizing time in God’s Word is absolutely critical.

Oh, to have “the word of Christ” always dwelling inside of us;—in the memory, never
forgotten; in the heart, always loved; in the understanding, really grasped; with all
the powers and passions of the mind fully submitted to its control!
