Overcoming Difficulty Is Possible
When you’re in the middle of a difficult situation or life struggle, the hope of overcoming it can seem far away. You think there’s no way out for you and the walls of difficulty are closing in. I know that feeling. It’s a tight squeeze and you feel like you’re losing air.
Here’s the thing though: nothing is too difficult for God. Nothing. Do you need that reminder today?
How easy it is to get off track and allow all the craziness of the world to consume us. It’s not hard to wind up in this place. In fact, without making a concerted effort to combat it, it’s very easy to find yourself here.
But take heart! This is not a place you need to dwell in any longer. There is good news for overcoming difficulty!
How do we know this?
God knew we were going to struggle and try to do this life on our own. He knew we would have full plates and difficult roles, but he never wanted us to go through life without Him at the center, supporting us up and carrying us through. He knew we would be desperate for His help and His heart’s desire is always to save.

It’s right in the middle of this mess that He speaks to us and tells us nothing is too hard for Him to handle. His very words are these: Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for me? Jeremiah 32:27 NASB
When I really stop and take the time to think about those words, my first thought goes to creation.
It unfolds like this: I’m in the middle of my difficulty (insert your difficulty HERE). I can’t figure out how to get out or make it better. I find myself digging a pit that slowly but surely gets a little deeper and a little deeper.
Then, the God of the universe reminds me, “Is anything too difficult for me?” Hmm. That’s a good question.
For a split second, my mind wonders about God. Somehow, He created the entire world and all its inhabitants. That seems pretty difficult to pull off, but somehow He did it.
Nothing is too Difficult for God
I’m just going to list a few because I’m pretty sure you’re not interested in reading this post until you’re 93 years old.
Creation. This was previously mentioned but take the time to consider this feat. From nothing, God created everything. And all He had to do was speak it into being.
I’ve tried speaking a money tree into my backyard and it has yet to come so this seems pretty significant to me. God can do difficult things that I can’t.
Splitting the Red Sea. He made a way through the sea when there was no other way to go.
The Israelites thought they were trapped and God split the water to form a path straight down the middle and showed them He had them taken care of.
Again, this is a difficult accomplishment that comes no where close to my own skills and ability.
Sacrificing His Son on the cross to save the world from their sin. I can’t fathom this pain and difficulty but Jesus conquered it.
Literally conquered death. God’s son rose from the dead and provided a way for us to be in an ever-lasting relationship with God again. Whoa.
God has a track record of overcoming difficulty. These are only three examples but the bible is FULL of story upon story of Him proving nothing is too difficult for Him.

Will He do the same for you?
He will absolutely do the same for you! There is NOTHING that is too hard, too difficult, or too complicated for God to handle.
In fact, He’s patiently waiting for you to ask Him for help. He’s eager to step in and carry you through this difficulty.
Surrender your struggle to Him and trust in His provisions. He is the only way to get through this. He alone is the secret to overcoming difficulty in life.
Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17 NIV
Jesus looked at [the disciples] and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 ESV
God is the Creator of the universe. He creates and breathes new life into existence when there is nothing. He can do that for our marriages, families, finances, careers, health, motherhood, and relationships. Anything at all!
Your rescue is coming. Your raging seas will be split. It hardly ever comes the way you expect it to, so keep your eyes open and up.
You were not designed to go through life’s difficulties on your own. You’ll never make it that way.
He’s coming for you. Hang tight.
Call to Action
Consider times in your life that God rescued you. Write them down so you can be reminded that He’s rescued you before and believe that He will do it again.
Nothing is too difficult for God.
Heavenly Father, you created this world we live in and the air we breathe. Your word tells us nothing is too difficult for you. We are in desperate need of your help. Help our hearts to believe these words today. Let our weary and burdened souls rest in you. Thank you for the hope you give to us. Amen
