Dear Anxious Mom,
Everything is going to be ok. Do you need to hear that today? Me too. Are you an anxious mom looking for hope today? These 4 Biblical Reminders are for you.
We worry if our child is going to be ok in this world. It’s hard not to be an anxious mom when all we want is to make sure that our child is going to be safe, make good friends, and have a bright future.
It’s a hard world out there. We know it an be mean, we’ve experienced it ourselves.
Maybe see him struggling at times. He’s not like the crowd. He needs extra special attention and that area that is easy to the world, is really challenging for him.
You can see him battling defeat and discouragement. You know that battle.
You’re battling it yourself right now. It breaks your heart and you are pleading and trying to make it all better. That’s the core of an anxious mom’s heart: to make sure everything is ok for their child.
Is he going to be ok? It’s a question that feels really weighted and heavy some days. Today is one of those days.
I do not have a magic wand to make everything all better. There’s no way for me to snap my fingers and make all of these struggles go away. I know you wish the same thing.
Instead, I want to give you (us) 4 biblical reminders of what is true and what we can rely on when we are desperately trying to cling to hope as an anxious mom.
4 Biblical Reminders for the Anxious Mom:
God Cares.
Biblical reminder #1. As much as we long for our children to be ok, God cares infinitely more. If you struggle believing this or it doesn’t feel like He cares, that doesn’t make it untrue.
He cares so much that he sent his only son to die for you and I and our children so that we could be saved. If he will go to such great lengths to save us, why would he stop now, in this struggle?
No, he never stops saving. He’s not about to let us flounder without Him. He cares too much to leave us alone.

God Sees.
El Roi: the God that sees me.
He sees your concern and heartbreak. God sees the tears you’ve cried. He sees you hold your breath hoping today will be different and a little easier than yesterday.
God sees it all. In Genesis 21 when Hagar, another anxious mom, was in the wilderness with her son Ishmael and out of water and desperate, God saw her.
He heard her son crying and knew her desperation for her child. He also saw the well that would provide nourishment to their weary souls and He “opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well full of water. She quickly filled her water container and gave the boy a drink.” Gen. 21:19 NLT
God sees you and He sees your wells, too. He has them perfectly placed and planned.
These wells are direct gifts from God to nourish you. Keep looking to God so He can show you your wells.
God sees beyond this struggle and knows the purpose that will be birthed from it.
He sees how this will shape you and your child. He sees his perfect plan in place even when we can’t see past the difficulty of today.
God is trustworthy.
We can trust Him. He has proven himself worthy time and time again.
His word says he will fight for us.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” Exodus 14:14
His word says he has a purpose in all things.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. Romans 8:28
His word says he has a future for us (and our children) – that is good!
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
His word says he knows exactly what we need.
“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:8
His word says he will meet all our needs.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
God gives us Himself.

God is Hope.
Hopelessness is putting our trust in anything but God. When it feels or seems hopeless, cling to the God of hope.
Faith is trusting the God of hope.
This may be a minute by minute basis and a true fight to fix your eyes on the God of hope.
I love Paul’s prayer and reminder, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NLT
God is in this with us. Always.

How to Put These Biblical Reminders into Practice:
What to do when you feel helpless?
As mamas, we have to DO something if our child is struggling. We can’t just sit on the sidelines. But what do we do when this struggle is beyond us and what we can provide for our child? What do we do then?
When you’re exhausted from worry and feel helpless to “fix” this struggle, below are three tangible action items to put these biblical reminders into practice no matter the situation.
1. Submerge.
Submerge yourself in the truths above (Free Printable Below) and others you find in the bible. Doubt, fear, and worry will try to consume you. Combat them with truth. Fiercely pursue truth.
2. Pray.
If you are struggling to pray or with what to say, bring in back up forces to pray for you and with you. This could be your greatest weapon.
3. Praise.
This is likely the most difficult of the three action items but also the most powerfully rewarding. It invites God’s presence and paves the way for His power to be displayed.
God is holding you and your kiddo tightly in His hand.
He’s walking this hard path with you and He’s at the ready to carry you through.
With all the unknowns swirling around, rest in the arms of the Known. He knows your child best. He knows exactly what he needs. God cares deeply for him.
Your wells are already there and in place to give your weary soul the nourishment it needs.
Fill up.
I’m praying with you and for you. I hope these 4 biblical reminders brought comfort and encouragement to you today.
Rest easy, Anxious Mom. God is right there with you.
