I find myself whispering, “Lord, help me.” as I feel the talons of worry tightly grip me. Fear and worry are bosom buddies that are always found playing together. Though they try to gang up on me from time to time, I’ve been trained to battle through prayer as I know my Heavenly Father cares dearly for me and whatever I am facing. It only takes but a short prayer for worry to remember the true placeholder of power: my God alone.
Short Prayer For Worry
A short prayer for worry can be as simple as one desperate plea of, “Help” to God our Father or a few words to include, “Lord, I give you my fears and worries. Take my worries from me and fill me with your perfect peace and strength instead.”
Jesus says in Luke 24:38, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?”
God’s Word is filled with His care for every situation we face.
Psalm 34:7, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.”
Or consider Psalm 72:14, “From oppression and violence he redeems their life, and precious is their blood in his sight.”
Or Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Or Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
We are His royal treasure.
He is the God that parted the Red Sea, brought down the walls of Jericho, protected Daniel in the lion’s den, and He continues to restore and protect His children.

How can I give all my worries to God?
Have you been praying and still wonder how can you give all your worries to God? I’ve been learning a lot lately about surrender and it’s a daily, moment by moment giving up. Worry has a tendency of creeping back in even after we’ve given all worries over to God.
This used to discourage me but I’m realizing now that each time I surrender my worry over to God, deeper roots of trust and faith are grown.
If you imagine a face-off of worry vs God, who wins?
God is the victor every single time!
He tells us in Matthew 6:25-33 NLT:
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
God’s Word tells us just through this small passage:
- You are valuable to God.
- God cares for you more than you can fathom.
- God knows all your needs.
When we worry, we’re scared of possible outcomes and we’re generally looking at worst-case scenarios. But this passage in Matthew 6 ends with the words, “seek the Kingdom of God.” There is purpose in these words coming on the heels of the “do not worry” passage.
Shift your focus from your physical perception to trusting with eyes of faith in seeking the Kingdom of God instead.
